I will be traveling to the US for three days next November 12 and I am taking some peruvian Barbie dolls from “Warmi Emprende” with me. 36 kilometers away from Lima centro, heading south, it is located the district of Lurin. Traditionally known as the land of tamale and cracklings, as well as the district of the Pachacamac ruins, Lurin is the crossing spot and destination of many people looking for an escape from the noise and hectic life of the capital.

However, Lurin is certainly much more than this and the reason is the great work that a group of women is achieving by creating jobs for many other women, whether within the district or in the surrounding areas, through the splendid art and creativity of their hands. The result is, without any doubt, export quality handicraft.
